Inspection & monitoring of rope access work

Inspection & monitoring of rope access work

Our teams of rope access technicians are available for situations where working at heights is required, or in areas that are not easily accessible, such as:

  • Buildings (Maintenance inspections and inspections required by Bill 122)
  • Towers
  • Bridges
  • Dams
  • Wind turbines
  • Closed spaces
  • Wall chipping

Rope access is an inexpensive and safe technique that gives an unlimited access to various portions of a structure, without having to use costly and difficult to operate lifting equipment and without having to obtain occupation permits for use of public space required by the municipality.

A preliminary meeting and a study of your needs ensure a safe and planned involvement.  We provide fast, safe and cost-effective inspections.

Inspection and assessment

Tactile or close visual inspection of the condition of the vertical envelope (walls) components enables to determine the exact cause of deterioration and the extent of degradation of elements such as:

  • Covering (masonry, steel, curtain walls, etc.)
  • Fenestration
  • Sealing compounds
  • Elements anchored to façades (air-conditioning units, signs, flags, etc.)
  • Stone elements (cantilevers, cornices, columns, pediments, rose windows, corbels, etc.)

It assists in determining if specific repair work can be performed to extend the life expectancy of components or if complete renovation is required.

Assistance for contractors during work

In several cases, the use of rope access techniques facilitates access, for instance by assisting contractors in carrying out maintenance work. It also enables the owner to save costs related to rental of expensive lifting equipment, issuance of permits, etc. Our teams are available to assist contractors in several circumstances, such as:

  • Emergency work (elimination of dangerous conditions)
  • Structural work
  • Architectural work
  • Waterproofing and damp proofing
  • Installation of equipment (signs, mechanical units, etc.)

On-site supervision / Quality control of work

Our rope access technicians can monitor work, in conjunction with our project leaders (engineers or technicians). Ingétec ensures efficient and safe on-site follow-up.

Surveys and water tests

Technical surveys, combined with water tests, are essential for the identification of causes of water infiltration through the building envelope. Flexibility and versatility of the rope access technique make it possible to perform surveys and water tests at places sometimes considered to be inaccessible.

Assistance for inspection firms (architecture and consulting engineering)

Architectural and consulting engineering firms may contact Ingétec with respect to our consultation and subcontracting services, namely as part of the mandatory inspections of façades for unsafe conditions required by the RBQ (Bill 122).
